Bringing smiles to faces in our small community since 2011. Both the Hildebrandts and the Harpers are still involved in the business today. The store is locally owned & operated. It is a small business developed by the entire team. "we have an amazing range of talents. What the owners like most is that they aren't a franchise and have the ability to change and adapt at the drop of a hat. 10 years later, Urban Swirl now serves premium hand-dipped ice cream.

The Hildebrandts have 2 daughters and 2 sons. Currently... Daughter Amy is coaching the women's wrestling program at Trine University. Son Cory is in law school locally and expecting twins with his wife Paige (an original swirl girl). Daughter Sarah is training for the Women's World Team and is expected to compete on the USA Olympic Women's wrestling team this summer. Son, Drew is wrestling as a Senior at Central Michigan and is ranked #2 in the Nation. 

 

The Harpers were both raised right here in Mishawaka graduating from Mishawaka High School and then graduating from Purdue University. In 2011 the two dynamite duos (Hildebrandts & Harpers) teamed up to bring you Urban Swirl. A few years later, Harpers started their family and now have daughter, Mackinsie (7) and son, Deuel (5). Brad Harper is a teacher and Coach at Penn High School. Chrissy Harper operates Urban Swirl daily and can usually be found stirring up the next best recipe to bring our guests.
